1. Precise finger protection
Finger cots allow operators to keep other fingers bare for handling tools or touchscreens while protecting the working finger (usually index or thumb). This is more economical than wearing full gloves when only one or two fingers contact sensitive surfaces.
2. Low particle and ion generation
Cleanroom grade finger cots are washed and packaged to minimize contamination. Typical particle shedding (for quality finger cots):
| Particle size | Particles per finger cot (≥0.5μm) |
|---|---|
| ≥0.5μm | 300 – 600 |
| ≥5μm | 30 – 60 |
3. Powder‑free and residue‑free
No cornstarch or powder that could transfer to components. Low NVR (non‑volatile residue) – typically <0.05 mg per cot.
4. Sizing guide – choose the correct diameter
| Size | Inner diameter (mm) | Recommended for finger circumference | Typical user |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 23 mm | ~72 mm (2.8 in) | Small fingers (women, small hands) |
| M | 26 mm | ~82 mm (3.2 in) | Average adult index finger |
| L | 28 mm | ~88 mm (3.5 in) | Large fingers or thumb |
How to measure: Wrap a string around the thickest part of your finger (usually the second knuckle). Measure the string length. Divide by 3.14 to get approximate diameter. Choose the next size up if between sizes – too tight restricts blood flow; too loose slips off.
5. One size (27×65mm)
This is a general purpose size that fits average fingers moderately well. For better fit and reduced fatigue, use the S/M/L specific sizes.

| Industry | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Electronics assembly | Handling small components, PCBs, connectors |
| Quality control | Inspecting surfaces without leaving fingerprints |
| Medical device | Assembling small parts, avoiding skin oils |
| Optics | Handling lenses, filters, prisms |
| Jewelry making | Polishing, setting stones |
| Laboratory | Handling samples, opening tubes |

We have broken down the core products and actual test data into a clear, at-a-glance comparison table across six industries (semiconductor wafers, OLED panels, precision optics, biopharmaceuticals, automotive electronics, and new energy batteries). The table includes the wiper or cleanroom consumable model for each industry, key physical parameters (particle shedding, water absorbency, ionic residues, etc.), and applicable compliance standards (SEMI, GMP, IATF 16949, ISO 10993, etc.)
